Since it’s only a matter of time until the members of the BrainTrust accept Christ into their hearts after years of nü metal and crystal meth, here is a nice piece about two memoirs which I’m sure will become discussion fodder for us all. For some reason I feel I should be noodling around on my 7-string beast as I write this, but I don’t feel like getting up, except maybe to put on the two (dos) Marvin Gaye albums I bought a couple nights ago. (I highly recommend them.) There, that’s better. That low B-string is rattling the walls. (Munky and Head tune down to “A” I believe, which is just overkill if you ask me.) I think I might start honing my guitar modding skills and switch out the pickups, and maybe add a coil-tap, too. Soldering is fun. I’ll post some sweet pics if I get to it.

Head's Save Me From MyselfFieldy's Got The LifeAnyhoo, former KoЯn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch’s memoir, Save Me from Myself: How I Found God, Quit Korn, Kicked Drugs, and Lived to Tell My Story, which came out in 2007, sounds a little too Jesus-y (and methy) for my liking, so I don’t believe I’ll be reading it anytime soon. I might pick up the “clean” version (profanity-free for all you TV-MAers out there). Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, KoЯn’s bassist, recently released his autobiography, Got the Life. (And it seems that NameDavid came up with his nickname. Scroll down to the second paragraph under Musical Career to see the evidence.) I probably won’t read this one either, but the article is cool, I think. Fieldy never got baptized in the Jordan River or appeared on The 700 Club. Does anyone know what the significance of 700 is? Pat Robertson, do you read SwaggerTooth.com? Damn, that Marvin sounds so, so nice.

  2. Nice post. I love KoЯn.

And when you say that low B-string is “rattling the walls” do you really mean it’s rattling that G-spot? Ah?

Dude, I didn’t know Fieldy went to the God side, too. One would think that after Fieldy’s “awakening” that he would then have to leave KoRn as well. I mean damn, has he ever listened to Davis’ lyrics??? But as Elvis Pharaoh would say, they probably needed Jesus anyway. I can’t believe Head went on Pat Robertson–that’s funny.

I believe the 700 club originated when they first were trying to get 700 members? Or they already had a solid 700 members? I don’t know? I win a fresh tee?

    I love KoЯn.

  3. The Bird Man is pretty much right about those Jesus Freaks, while dealing with a financially hard time Robertson held a telethon trying to get 700 members to contribute $10 a month which would be enough to support the station, thus the 700 club. Whenever I talk to a extremely religious person, a person so confident in their beliefs they can not even acknowledge the possibility of something other than what they believe in is what actually happened, I can’t decide if I envy their conviction or pity their narrow-mindedness. I should win a fresh tee. (Are there actually shirts?)

  4. I can’t remember actually coming up Fieldy’s name, but then again, I don’t remember much from those days. I should add that his brother’s monicker is Botee Snuts.
