The NBA playoff seedings are officially set and most people’s opinions haven’t changed: We want NEED to see Lakers v. Cavs. These are clearly the top two teams this year being led by arguably the top two players in the world. Who wouldn’t want to see that?
That being said, I think it will happen. IF it is true that Kevin Garnett will miss the entire playoffs due to the bum knee (which I actually don’t think is true), then you can write Boston out in the 2nd round, losing to Orlando. After that, the Fighting LeBrons should take out Orlando, with the embarrassment of the April 3rd beatdown serving as extra motivation.
In the West, it will be the Lakers. Period. The only team I will allow any chance is San Antonio, simply because of their every-other-year theory (right, David?).

Who will be crowned NBA Champions this year?
Seriously, we need to know for Vegas gambling...
- Los Angeles Lakers (just plain ridiculous) (80%, 4 Votes)
- Boston Celtics (no postseason KG -- good luck with that) (20%, 1 Votes)
- Cleveland Cavaliers (best home record AND overall record--what what) (0%, 0 Votes)
- Orlando Magic (Dwight Howard defensive monster of the year watch) (0%, 0 Votes)
- Denver Nuggets (we actually play defense now) (0%, 0 Votes)
- San Antonio Spurs (see: every-other-year theory) (0%, 0 Votes)

In other basketball news: It is being reported that new FIU head basketball coach Isaiah Thomas will be working fo’ free this year by way of “donating” his first year’s salary to the school’s athletic department. HAHA. So how do you go from having a “job” that pays you millions of dollars to literally do nothing to a job where you actually work, but don’t get paid? Welcome Isaiah Thompson:
John Madden officially announced his retirement from the broadcasting today. All of us here at SwaggerTooth were huge fans of the legendary football icon, which actually put us in the minority for our age demographic. A common complaint from many young folk was the inability to tolerate the Hall-of-Famer’s sometimes obvious and often blunt observations of the game. The BrainTrust had no problem with any of that. We love John Madden and watching/listening to football games will not be the same without him. We wish him the best of luck in retirement.

Unfortunately for Dem Spurs Dem, that Manu absence is gonna be tough, but you know I love those theories. Oh yeah, the Lakers are really good too.

Oh yeah, shouts out to the boy Thompson, too. I forgot to mention that, but I can only imagine that’s a bad omen for the future.

my heart hurts that john madden is done. what is going to happen to the trailer with the players pictures after the game?! and the absurdly huge turkey with too many legs on thanksgiving. it’s just not going to be the same w/o him. At least they’re replacing him with a gator…
By gatorgirl2107 on Apr 17, 2009
I love my Gators. That being said, Chris Collinsworth sucks.
By El Meester on Apr 17, 2009
