March Madness resumes tonight with 4 games and I think Duke/Villanova will be the most intriguing matchup of the evening. Other than that, none of the games really scream out at me. My picks? Oh, they’re so chalky. UConn, Pittsburgh, Memphis, Duke.

Off-court stories you will hear all weekend:
• UConn recruiting violations
• Billy Gillispie’s job security vs. hiring John Calipari or Billy Donovan

Terrell Owens apparently doesn’t think he needs to meet his new coaching staff and teammates until they tell him he absolutely has to. He has informed the Bills that he will not be attending the team’s voluntary workouts. I can’t totally blame the man—I mean damn, nobody can ever say Owens is ever out of shape AND he says he will working out with her personal training instead. No problems there. My problem with all of this is that he is joining a new team. A new staff. A new quarterback. Shouldn’t he at least check out how they do things before totally writing it off?

The Senate Judiciary Committee is taking a look at BCS. They will be running this through the subcommittee on antitrust, competition policy and consumer rights and will be headed up by leading Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah. It actually sounds like something will change as a result of this, and that makes all happy inside BUT does the Senate really need to be concerned this much about the BCS at this time?

It looks like Tampa Bay Rays uber-prospect David Price will start the year in the minors. The way they handled Evan Longoria last year (AL ROY) leads me to not doubt the organization until they give me reason to do so. I think TB has some really smart people in the front office and Price will be this year’s AL ROY.

NBA: Yo, watch out for dem Magic dem. They beat the Celtics last night, which also put them in the 2-spot in the East, while bumping the C’s down to the 3. If Orlando can hold on to that spot, they will beat (BEAT, I tell you) Boston in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Howard: Double-double after 1 quarter; finished with 24-21.

Cavs win franchise-record 58th game of season. Congrats. What free-agency in summer 2010? By the way, wasn’t that a headline we were expecting for the Celtics this year? What a difference a year makes.

Non-sports topic: KC Chopz – “I Love Chongas”. Just because it’s so damn cool. If anyone can get me an MP3 of this, I need it. For da whip. [Edit: Download Link -> 96kbps - 192kbps]

Good afternoon SwaggerToothers,

It’s your boy S Dot in the house and today I’m blogging to you live from….work. Ok, so Boca Raton, FL is a little less exciting than the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA today–where I’d ideally like to be. If only my knucklehead associate from ps3hotness.com and bumforums.com would have thought about going to this years ACC Tournament (to see the Noles win it all) with a little bit more advance notice than last night–then I might have been blogging to you live from the game. Instead, I am officially conceding all productivity for the rest of the day and streaming this bad boy on beautiful ESPN360.com and you should be too if you’re fortunate enough to have access to that service, depending on your ISP (hopefully not Comcast). Just in case anyone was wondering though… Billy Mays is right, live sports at work really is much better than work at work! “Now my job is way less soul crushing!”

Anyway, so “back to the lecture at hand / Perfection is perfected, so I’ma let ‘em understand,” to quote the homey Snoop Doggy Dogg and Dr. Dre (And that’s realer than Real-Deal Holyfield). As El Meester had previously mentioned this week, we’re grinding out in a Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball league again this year and I can already hear the wah-wah-wah’s from you sissy little girls that “it”s too much work” or “the season is too long,” but that’s a bunch of bitchmade excuses for a real sportsfan if ya ask me… yea, I’m calling you out like that! Well, I have just the thing for you then junior (and it’s not a warm bottle from your mommy): I present you with the official SwaggerTooth.com Yahoo! College Basketball Tournament Pick’em League!

After you begin to settle down from all this excitement for one afternoon, probably running around your home or office in a frenzy punching your friends and co-workers in the face—here is the information you will need to join us in filling out a bracket next week for the beginning of March Madness. Selection Sunday is, you guessed it, this Sunday for any of you “special Ed’s” out there. Ladies and gentlemen, in case any of you have been living under a rock for the past month or have maybe been hit in the head with a rock and forgot due to memory loss and/or brain damage—the play-in game is on Tuesday March 17th at 7:30 and then the real-deal-holyfield action begins on Thursday March 19th from Philadelphia, Greensboro, Kansas City, and Portland. Hopefully dem Seminoles will be playing the first round in Miami on Saturday March 20th so the fans can travel during this challenging economy. The Hurricanes of course have no chance at being invited to this dance because they thought it would be prudent to go down double digits early in the game against Virigina Tech yesterday and ultimately lost 65-47. The immediate future for the Canes doesn’t look too bright either if you consider their upcoming football schedule for 2009, there are some that believe they will start the season 0-4…write that down?

Well, the 2nd half is underway here in the FSU@GaTech (essentially that’s what that is in the Georgia Dome) and FSU currently leads 33-27 with a full 19 miuntes left to play. I personally like the Seminoles chances to win this game and advance to the semi-finals but I am concerned about playing UNC again after that heart breaking loss FSU suffered at home on Ty Lawson’s (lucky) game winning shot in Tallahassee. So, meet me at the trap because it’s going down.

We are once again staring at the beginning of March Madness in the face. A time of year when brackets are made to be busted. College basketball teams vie for their right to compete for the national championship, and along with millions of other basketball fans, we watch to see who’s going to make it and who will be left to end their season playing for that prestigious NIT crown. Earlier this week, an unlikely win in the Horizon League Final sent a Cleveland State (I know what you are thinking. ‘Cleveland ain’t no state.’ Well, neither is Ball.) dancing, as they say, and with the upset, said Horizon League will be represented by two members, CSU and Butler. Now, do I think Butler was in on trying to boost the League’s image with two representatives? Well, I’m no Mel Gibson, but I do smell something fishy. I digress. Now today, Kansas, the Jayhawks of Kansas, lost to lowly Baylor University. This isn’t too troubling since Baylor still has a way to go before they are deemed tournament worthy; however, in an effort to prevent any other activity that might limit the overall number of at large bids (due to the higher ranked teams in respective conferences being upset in the league tournament), I would like to strongly suggest that those who are supposed to win the tournament do so (with the exception of the SEC of course in which case the scenario I would like to play out would actually void the reason for this entire argument altogether). It’s just common courtesy folks.
